Sample Preparation
Sample preparation facilities that support the analytical laboratories include standard equipment (crushers, mills, saws, heavy liquids, magnetic separators, sieves) for mineral separation and characterization (binocular and petrographic microscopes with digital photographic capabilities).
Other Institutions
BGC maintains close collaborative relations with several departments on the University of California-Berkeley campus, the nearby Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the University of California-Davis campus, Stanford University, and the United States Geological Survey Center located at Menlo Park and Ames Research Center. As a result, BGC participates in a world-class intellectual environment and enjoys access to a unusually rich assortment of analytical instrumentation and facilities.
